Antibiotics are used by many, but not all, in animal husbandry. Antibiotics are substances that can destroy or inhibit the growth of other microorganisms (particularly bacteria) and are made from certain microorganisms (such as fungi or bacteria). In livestock management they can be used to treat disease, however the amount and frequency that they are used by individuals on their animlas can vary massively.
